Simple home-made tortillas

makes 6-12 depending on size

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl mix together dry ingredients until fully combined.
  2. While mixing with a spoon pour in warm water and oil, continue mixing until a rough ball of dough forms.
  3. knead on a floured surface until the dough forms a smooth ball.
  4. Divide dough ball into 6 pieces for burrito sized or 12 pieces for taco sized and roll each into a ball.
  5. On a floured surface roll each ball into a flattened circle the size of the final tortilla. Store between floured towels until ready to cook.
  6. Preheat a cast iron skillet, large enough to lay the tortillas flat, on medium high.
  7. place 1 tortilla at a time cooking on 1 side for 15-30 seconds or until slightly charred, flip and cook until lightly charred on the other side.
  8. Remove from pan and place between a folded towel until ready to serve.
