Giant Apple Tart

Overview
An extra large apple tart/turnover.
Ingredients
- Pie Crust
- 3 Large Apples sliced into thin wedges
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/8 tps salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 egg beaten
- raw sugar (decorative)
Additional Equipment
- Pizza Stone
- Wire Rack
Instructions
- Add to a large bowl Apples, cinnamon, salt, sugar, vanilla, butter. Toss to fully coat apple slices.
- Roll out Pie Crust into an extra large disc 18-20" diameter.
- Preheat oven to 350F, with pizza stone on bottom rack
- Arrange apple slices in concentric layered circles starting in the middle, leaving 3" minimum of pie crust on all sides.
- Fold excess crust over the apple slices leaving 6" opening in the middle
- Brush top with egg wash and sprinkle raw sugar over, refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Place tart on pizza stone and bake for 40-50 minutes rotating halfway.
- Remove when crust is golden brown, place on wire rack to cool.
