Gingerbread Loaf


Overview

A soft Gingerbread loaf/cake. Strong spice and molasses flavors good with cream cheese icing.

Original recipe for 1 9" square pan
Favorite Old-Fashioned Gingerbread

Ingredients

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F, Grease and flour pan(s)

  1. Beat butter in a large bowl with an electric mixer until creamy.
  2. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy ~3min.
  3. Mix in Egg
  4. Mix in Molasses until smooth.
  5. Sift dry ingredients together into a bowl, Flour, Baking Soda, Cinnamon, Ginger, Cloves, Salt
  6. Gradually add dry mix into wet mix a little at a time fully mixing between until all dry mix is fully incorporated and mixture is smooth.
  7. Pour into prepared pan(s)
  8. Bake until a toothpick in the center comes out clean, if using a 9" square pan about 30 minutes adjust time for pan size (smaller = less time)
