Gingerbread Syrup
Overview
A Gingerbread flavored syrup, delicious in hot chocolate with irish cream or whisky, or in coffee.
Ingredients
- 2" of ginger root cut into 1/8" slices
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 3 Cinnamon Sticks
- 1 tsp. whole cloves
- 14/ tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small saucepan add Molasses, Brown Sugar, Ginger, Cinnamon Sticks, Cloves, Nutmeg, Pepper and 1 cup of water. Bring to a simmer on medium heat, reduce heat to low and cook until sugar fully dissolves.
- Remove saucepan from heat and stir in Vanilla. Let steep for 30 minutes.
- Strain all solids from syrup and store in refrigerator for up to 1 month.
